A five-part people prompt
A convincing figure prompt moves from the visible person to the moment around them. Use pose and framing first, then add expression, light, and one meaningful variation.
- 01
Person, role, and moment
Describe the person through a visible role, action, or relationship to the camera. A traveler folding a map gives the model more structure than a list of personality traits.
- 02
Pose, gesture, and crop
Choose close-up, three-quarter, waist-up, full-body, or wide framing, then describe what the body is doing. The crop and gesture work together to determine where the viewer looks first.
- 03
Clothing and visual surface
Mention clothing, material, or medium when it contributes to the image. Keep the background quieter when fabric, skin, hands, or a particular digital or charcoal surface should carry the study.
- 04
Light that supports expression
Use one clear source such as window light, a studio key, or a street reflection. The light should reveal the expression and gesture instead of adding a second story that competes with the person.
- 05
One controlled portrait variation
Keep the person and action stable while changing the crop, setting, or light. Comparing related versions helps you refine the character without losing the visual reason the first prompt worked.
People prompts to try
01A baker listening to rain
Create an editorial portrait of a baker listening beside a rain-streaked window, three-quarter view, soft natural light, calm mood.
02A traveler folding a map
Create a cinematic image of a traveler folding a worn city map at a night station, close-up of the hands and face, warm contrast.
03A dancer between movements
Create a dynamic full-body image of a dancer pausing between two movements in an empty theater, dramatic side light, charcoal illustration style.
04A child with an oversized plant
Create a playful editorial image of a child carrying an oversized leafy plant through a bright hallway, wide establishing shot, soft daylight.
05A mechanic after closing
Create a grounded digital portrait of a mechanic washing their hands after closing, waist-up crop, cool workshop shadows, one warm overhead light, restrained expression.
06A singer on an empty stage
Create a cinematic full-body image of a singer standing alone on an empty stage, three-quarter view, single spotlight, deep surrounding darkness, visible fabric texture and quiet anticipation.
Give the figure a clear visual job
A model understands a person more reliably when the prompt connects pose, expression, clothing, environment, and camera distance.
Name the person and the moment
Describe the person through visible traits, action, or role rather than an abstract personality.
Add one meaningful object when it helps explain the story. Keep it secondary so the figure remains the focal point.
Use pose and framing together
Specify close-up, three-quarter, full-body, or wide framing before adding anatomy detail.
Describe the gesture in ordinary visual language: leaning, folding, reaching, or pausing.
Make expression visible
Expression can come from the face, hands, shoulders, and relationship to the environment.
Combine one facial cue with a body position that supports the same mood.
Shape the portrait with light
Soft window light, studio light, and neon rim light create different priorities for the face and clothing.
Use a simple background instruction if the environment is competing with the person.
Compare people prompt variations
Keep the character and action stable while changing the crop, light, or visual style.
When a version feels natural, keep its structure and change only the setting or object for the next prompt.
